HI Ralph,
hope that you are doing good and like us thinking about Spring. We have been real busy around here so the time is going fast. We hope to take our first trip of the year in the next week or two, just close to home.
We hope to take a longer trip the end of April to mid May, go south east toward NV & Utah.
Do you have any early trips planed ? how about any plans for this Summer?
Jay

Dee, You are living out Woody's dream for him. Your trips and photos are fantastic. The Mendenhall Glacier photo took my breath away. Does Ramblin' Ralph ever make it to Arkansas? So good to hear from you. I am delighted that you pursue a lifestyle so many wish for. Mary

Ralph, Thank you for the great information. We just bought a Travel Lite 890 SBRX. We downsized from a 5th wheel to a pop up then up-sized to this truck camper. ^ years ago we flew into Fairbanks, rented a truck camper for 3 weeks and loved it. We want to drive to Alaska now but we want to be able to take "bear protection" which will stop us from going through Canada. We also want to travel out West but can't decide where to go this year. I want to see the Northern Lights so we will need to be in Alaska in the fall. Take care and safe travels.

My wife & I lived in Newcastle, CA for years then retired to OR off Hy 97 SW Bend. Been to some of the same places. My wife & her late husband gold mined AK years ago. Looks like you were close to the TV show Gold Rush @ Quartz Creek this past summer w/ the Hoffman's. We have stayed at many USFS sites throughout CA, OR, ID, WA and MT. Been thru Okanogan to Alberta & BC as well as up Hy 395 to Lone Pine & beyond. They checked our camper at the Border & confiscated a 1/2 onion. Have a 2001 GMC ext cab LWB 2500HD w/ air bags (same color) & an alum 2000 Lance 915 w/ solar panels. Plan to head to San Diego & AZ, maybe on further East in February. Longed to take the Alcan Hiway as my wife would love to show me Alaska. Take care on your trips & God Bless.

Enjoyed your pics & stories. We started with a homebuilt camper 50 yrs ago...had 11 rigs, some 69' long...back now to a 1030 Lance on a '97 Ford diesel. Small is better!

Ralph, I picked up your website from Truck Camper Magazine. Thanks for for sharing your adventures. I intend to use it as a guide for our trips as we are very, very close to retirement and are putting together our rig. Happy Trails to You. George Kepler

Hi Ralph, I'm glad to hear that you had a fantastic trip to Alaska! Of all the places I have visited only once that I want to get back to the most, Alaska is #1. It was great following your blog and looking at all the photos. Thanks again for posting!

HI Ralph,
I see that you are camped near one of our favorites places,we camp at Collier SP. and have drove through the Williamson CG. Two years ago when we drove through that CG it was not being taken care of and their was a few low life's with pit bull dogs that were vicious and was glad we were in our truck. Rv Sue was their last week with a good report about the CG. so the Forestry must have cleaned the place up.
My back is getting better but we deiced to Wate until the 16th of Oct.my wife will be retired than.
Have a good trip home.

Later, Jay
