Hi Ralph. Blackfoot reservoir? It sounded familiar, so I hunted and lo and behold, the team behind another blog I follow are the hosts there - fulltime.hitchitch.com, Ron and Terry. Small world.

Hi Ralph! Gosh, I have a lot of catching up to read! I see that you stayed at various places near Stanley. We've been busy using our tent this summer for some camping to remote areas that we don't want to or can't tow our FW to. We spent a night up at Seven Devil's above Riggins, ID, a couple of weekends back and one up near Stanley. We stayed in a meadow off the Lola Creek Road with our FW. The skeeters are bad back there. We were hoping to go up to Josephus Lake CG and Tin Cup both free, but one way in to Tin Cup was still blocked with a 20 ft drift and the road to Josephus was rough due to a washout, so off to Seven Devils. This year we are heading to Jackson, WY to FS CGs just outside the park for less crowds. Take care and I've got a lot of catching up to do!

Safe travels, Jay

Liked reading some of your comments on the sites. I have of course been to several along 395, and even some up in Oregon, and Washington. If you get stuck for a place when coming down 395, we are about 25 miles east of Palmdale, and about 6 miles north of 138. I promise no noise except the coyotes, and the horses, ( with the occasional barking of the dogs when the coyotes get too close to the goat, or horse corrals.. I have full hookups just alongside the barn, with no one around until feeding time for the horses, goats, and dogs. :p

I just discovered your website from a link from Love Your RV. A very nice resource to discover! My wife and I fulltime in a 38' 5th wheel, and I'm looking forward to checking out your many, many boondocking sites.

I just read your article and was impressed with all the beautiful places you've been. My wife and I just bought a wolf creek camper at the end of last year. Before that we had a toy hauler for years. I'm 69 yrs old and we want to spend some time on the road visiting great spots. Marie is not a USFS camp ground type person ( likes convenience of plug in power. But we have a camper that can afford us comfort boondocking so looking for good places. Marie's mom lives in Southern Utah so we love that part of the country. You have inspired me to go. Our truck is a dodge 2004 diesel 2500 with 97,000 miles. I've been told I need a 1 ton but it seemed to do ok.
Again thanks for the good camping place stays

Just wanted to say thank you for what you have done here, it is a wonderful resource. My wife and I aren't fond of camping in big campsites, your reviews and recommendations will make our next trip South way more enjoyable, and simpler. Well done, happy trails.

Kevin
