Ramblin' Ralph's Guest Book

Hi Ralph. I meant to send you a "howdy!" much sooner than this, but we moved to Palmdale in April and have been caught up in just about anything BUT getting out in the truck camper since then.
Not much will shake loose anytime real soon. Was looking at your log yesterday afternoon, following your route along Washington Route 20. Showed it to my wife in the Delorme's and told her it is a MUST DO. First, however, we have a trip planned to go cross country to Pennsylvania to see family in September, IF my wife has travel clearance from the surgery she has scheduled Aug. 15. We have to be back here in time for my daughter's baby shower(expecting her first Jan 18). Glad for the opportunity to go truck camping with Ralph if only vicariously. Thank you and keep on truckin'.

Hey Ralph! I see you are in McCall. We've been to but never stayed at the resort there. Nice for sure. There are a lot of campgrounds there if you are a local and know. Just north of Payette Lake off of Warren Wagon Road is the Northwest Passage CG. Very nice and you'd fit in there easily. We just took a 300 mile ride from home in Meridian, to Stolle Meadows, Warm Lake, Landmark, Yellow Pine (this weekend is the harmonica festival), back to McCall via Lick Creek Rd and back home,in a day. Came across a lot of nice FS CGs along the way. Check out Yellow Pine. You could dry camp up there somewhere easily. The road over Lick Creek is not bad, a little narrow and bumpy in spots, but you can make it in your pickup. We did it in our Jeep and a lot of people take their sedans. Take care.

Renee

Ralph, see that you are moving right along and been to some nice campgrounds, we have been to MT. Rainier NP. and stayed at the same CG. backed up to the Ohanapecosh River, we really enjoyed the park.
We came in from the south from Hwy14 at Carson up to Packwood. Took a one day trip to see MT. Saint Helens from the east side at Spirit Lake.
Thanks for the nice pictures and Info. Jay

HI Ralph,
I see that you are moving right along and you were in my area and it was to late for me to come by and say HI.
We have been up in the area around Cougar Res. but not in many years. Are the CGs full and how bad are the skeeters ? We hope to take a few days at the end of July and go camping but my wife hates skeeters and they love her, have you notice any poison oak in the last two CG that you were at? she gets poison oak bad so we stay at places that don't have a lot of it.
I did some mods to my boat so I'm going fishing next week to see if I like what I did and hope to catch a few Bass.
Have fun and I will be checking in soon. Jay

HI Ralph,
see that you are at Lone Pine and camping in the Alabama Hills, we were going to go to Lone Pine this last April but needed to go check on my 83 year old sister so we went north. I spent a lot of time in the Sierras back in the mid 50s to early 60s until we move to Oregon, Back then we had the place to our self's caught a ton of fish and had great camping.
I follow another blog interstellar orchard with Becky who is full timing in her Casita and she is at the Alabama Hills now and it' her first time their so if you run in to her say for me.
Enjoy your time in the Sierras and I will check back to see how things are going. Jay

HI Ralph,
good to see you on the road again and I will be checking in on you to see what you are up too.
We just got back from a 12 day trip from the Oregon coast and did a two night stay at campgrounds on Hwy. 138 from Diamond Lake to Roseburg Oregon.
Found a water leak in my trailer and it turned out to be a check valve for the hot water tank is bad and I have to remove the W/H tank to replace it. Have fun, Jay
